Visitor Visas - Detailed Information

1.1. Standard Visitor Visa

Purpose: For individuals who want to visit the UK for tourism, business, or to visit family/friends.

Duration: Up to 6 months.

Eligibility: Applicants must demonstrate that they intend to leave the UK at the end of their visit and have enough money to support themselves during their stay.

Examples of activities: Tourism, short-term business activities (meetings, conferences), attending a wedding, visiting family or friends, etc.

1.2. Child Visitor Visa

Purpose: For children under 18 who wish to visit the UK for tourism, to attend a short course, or to visit family/friends.

Duration: Typically granted for up to 6 months, but can be shorter.

Eligibility: Parents/guardians must provide consent for the child to travel, and the child must demonstrate sufficient funds for their stay.

Examples of activities: Visiting family members, tourism, attending a short course or program.

1.3. Parent of a Child Student Visa

Purpose: For parents or legal guardians of a child who is studying at an independent school in the UK.

Duration: Duration of the child’s studies or up to 12 months (depending on the child’s age and the situation).

Eligibility: The parent must show that they need to be in the UK to look after their child while they study.

Examples of activities: Accompanying a child studying at a UK school or institution.

1.4. Permitted Paid Engagement Visa

Purpose: For individuals visiting the UK to take part in a specific paid engagement, like giving a performance or speaking at a conference.

Duration: Up to 1 month.

Eligibility: Applicants must have been invited by a UK organization and must show the specific engagement details.

Examples of activities: Speakers at events, performers, artists, or other experts visiting for a short-term paid engagement.

2. Child Student Visa (formerly Tier 4 Child)

Purpose: For children aged 4-17 who want to study in a UK school (public or private).

Duration: The visa will be granted for the length of the school term or the course duration.

Eligibility:

  • Must be accepted into a registered school.
  • Parent or guardian must give consent for the child to study in the UK and provide financial support.
  • Must show proof of financial resources for tuition and living expenses.

3. Short-Term Study Visa

4. Graduate Visa (Post-Study Work Visa)
